Individuals, couples and families seeking therapy are hurting or stuck in some way, and I want to be a voice that authentically believes in their ability to overcome their current circumstance. I believe that each individual has inherent worth and so I desire to be a therapist that encourages a client to look at himself or herself as valuable and powerful in their healing process.
I am able to look at people this way through my Christian faith, and I will incorporate this in therapy as little or as much as you choose. I truly desire to be helpful to clients, so I will work to walk alongside you in your unique journey of healing.
I bring a Family Systems lens into therapy, which means that I believe that the cultural and family context we grew up in has an impact on how we understand ourselves currently. I believe that people come to their current circumstance for legitimate reasons, and that you deserve space to reflect on your experience to determine how you would like to be and interact with others now. Past this Family Systems lens, I use various theories that might benefit the individual’s, couple’s or family’s experience best based on what we create together as the goals of our work together.
I am passionate about working with individuals, couples and families facing a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, communication, intimacy, self-esteem, adjustment to big changes, parenting, shame, faith, divorce, marital issues, ADHD, attachment, impulse control, infertility and premarital counseling.
I graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary and I am a certified Prepare and Enrich Facilitator.
